Instructional Coach

Krista Van De Flier has been working in Early Childhood since 2001. She began teaching at Becky Gates Children’s Center in 2012 as a Lead Preschool teacher. In 2015, Ms. Krista moved into an administrative role in order to serve the teachers, staff and parents. In January of 2022, she began working in her new role as the center’s Instructional coach. Krista has completed the Child Development Associates credential certification and before moving into the Early Childhood field, she went to nursing school and completed a LPN Certification.

Krista says, “I love that children learn differently. Early Childhood Education is so important because their educational foundation is developed at this young age. Children are sponges and eager to learn.” Hands on and messy activities are her favorite things to do with children and her favorite children’s books are those written by Dr. Seuss.

I was inspired to become a teacher when I began raising my three daughters and started volunteering as a room parent in their part day enrichment class at Edwards Air Force Base Child Development Center California where my husband was stationed. This is where I learned that I had a passion for Early Childhood. I was inspired by the children’s love for learning. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a child’s face light up when they discover something new.”
