Howdy Families!

There is so much going on it is hard to keep up with it all; everyone at BGCC has been very busy! With the spring weather, if the children are not Walking Across Texas, they are prepping garden beds for spring planting. If they are not creating masterpieces in their classrooms, they are exploring STEM activities in the multi-purpose building. Be sure to follow the classroom storyboards as they provide fun details about the learning taking place in their classrooms.

We hope you can make plans to join us for one of the many activities happening in April. Keep reading for more details about Scholastic Book Fair, Week of the Young Child and Family Fun Night.

Also, our Spring/Summer 2024 Seasonal Menu has been published and you can find it here.

The Hindu festival Holi, also know as the Festival of Colors, is often celebrated by tossing brightly colored powders into the air. The Hullabaloo classroom combined learning about the traditions of Holi with Walk Across Texas. The children were motivated to keep walking and jogging to reach the color tossing marker! Check out the smiles on their faces!

Our little Reveille’s had a creative and collaborative time in the STEM lab. The children built massive structures using the block area, worked at the magnetic wall creating tunnels for the wooden balls and watched feathers, streamers, cotton balls and scarves fly through the wind tunnel.

Spring has officially arrived and the classrooms have begun the Learn, Grow, Eat and Go! Curriculum written by Junior Master Gardeners to promote a love of gardening and an appreciation for the environment. Children will be planting and caring for flowering plants, herbs, vegetables and fruit in their garden beds. They will talk about the parts of a plant and what plants need to grow. The best part is harvesting and tasting the fruits and vegetables. Below is a sampling of the learning they have been engaged in.
