HOWDY FAMILIES AND FRIENDS!

There are many exciting things happening this spring at the Children’s Centers. We kick off spring with professional development, new menus, Week of the Young Child, and graduation! As a reminder, BGCC graduation is Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at Bethancourt Ballroom in the MSC. CSCC graduation is Monday, April 22, at 7 p.m. at Bethancourt Ballroom in the MSC. New Spring/Summer Menus begin April 1. Copies of menus will be available at the front desk if you need one.

Thank you to all our families who were able to come and read to the children on Read Across America Day! The children enjoyed listening to new books and engaging with new people.

The Children’s Centers had their Professional Development Days on March 22-23. On Friday, teachers attended sessions at their respective schools and then attended the keynote speaker at the Texas Early Childhood Summit hosted by TAMU Institute for Early Childhood Development & Education followed by a day full of learning on Saturday at the Texas Play & Development Conference hosted by the Brazos Valley Chapter of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children. Thank you, families, for your support for our continuous learning and improvements.

During the week of April 8, we will be celebrating the Week of the Young Child, a fun-filled week celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities! The children have been busy creating artful masterpieces to be displayed across campus during the week in addition to daily fun activities. If you have time, take your child on campus, and see if they can find their artwork displayed. There are lots of fun engaging activities planned for the week culminating on Friday, April 12, to celebrate our families with DJs on the playgrounds! Check out the resources below to enhance your child’s learning throughout the week.
