RECIPE OF THE MONTH: Watermelon Juice with Lime

Wash your hands with soap and water, then gather all your equipment and ingredients and put them on a counter. Recipe provided by: www.chopchopfamily.org.

Kitchen Gear

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife (adult needed)
  • Measuring cup
  • Blender (adult needed)
  • 4 glasses

Ingredients

  • 6 cups watermelon
  • pinch kosher salt
  • ice cubes
  • 1 lime, scrubbed and cut into quarter

Instructions

  1. Put the watermelon cubes and salt in the blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Fill the glasses with ice, and divide the mixture between the 4 glasses.
  3. Squeeze a lime quarter into each glass before dropping it in for garnish. Serve right away.

Notes GET CREATIVE! Instead of cutting the lime into quarters and using it as a garnish, use a grater or zester to scrape its peel into the blender, then cut it in half and squeeze in the juice. It will be much limier this way!
