Open House/Meet the Teacher

  • In order to maintain our safety standards, we will be unable to host a physical Meet the Teacher/Open House night. We give access to a limited number of individuals in our building and we want to maintain that high standard while the coronavirus is still active in our community.
  • Meet the Teacher will be done via video. Teachers will send an email to their families during the week of August 3rd. In that email, a video message from the teacher will be included. The video will include a tour of the classroom. You will also receive your welcome packet and family questionnaire. Remember to get your questionnaire turned in quickly so the teacher has time to use that information to intentionally plan for the fall semester.
  • A virtual Open House is scheduled on Thursday, August 13. Your child’s teacher will send you a Zoom link invite. Every classroom will host two meetings; one at 4:00 PM and another at 4:30 PM. This is an opportunity for your child’s teacher to tell you more about the classroom, meet you and your child, and answer any questions you may have.

New Classroom Announcement & Transitions

  • Families will be notified of your child’s new classroom August 3, 2020 via email. Please note: classrooms are full when we announce the new classroom assignments. This means we cannot move your child to another classroom where there is no space. Licensing dictates how many children can be in one classroom and we are maxed out.
  • Typically we have a transition week prior to the start of the fall semester. This year, there will be NO transition. Your child will “meet” their teacher via video welcome message. Teachers will also introduce themselves from the doorway of the child’s current classroom. Our continued goal is to have the least amount of people intermixing as possible. We feel transitions are not best for our COVID-19 situation.
  • Families will be notified of your child’s new classroom the week of August 3rd  via email.  Please note: classrooms are full when we announce the new classroom assignments.  This means we cannot move your child to another classroom where there is no space.  Licensing dictates how many children can be in one classroom and we are maxed out.

Policy on COVID Closings (subject to change)

  • If we get notification of a positive COVID-19 case, we will report to the Health Department who is defined as a close contact with the infected individual, and any other requested information.
  • Per Health Department, we will notify all families, in writing, if their child was or was not a close contact with the individual who tested positive. Those who are identified as a close contact will be asked to complete a 14-day quarantine.
  • Families notified of being a close contact and instructed to quarantine will not be charged tuition during the quarantine time frame.
  • A fogging and deep cleaning of classroom or other spaces will occur before children and/or staff are allowed back into those areas.
  • Once disinfecting is complete, the classroom will reopen to those not asked to self-quarantine.
