Early Childhood Texas Website Launch

Texas Health and Human Services has launched the Early Childhood Texas website. The website has information about programs and different resources in health and development, parenting, education, and eligibility programs. We encourage you to visit this new website as it is a great resource for all our families!

Learn, Grow, Eat & GO!

In March we begin the 10-week Junior Master Gardener Learn, Grow, Eat & GO! research-based and evidence-based curriculum from AgriLife Extension. This year, the Aggies and 12th Man classrooms will be piloting the new Early Learning version while the rest of us will continue using the modified Elementary version. We are super excited to get our garden beds full of beautiful plants again and learn about nutrition, garden science, food preparation and fresh vegetable tastings! Our newsletter recipes will come from the curriculum! We hope you have a chance to try the recipes at home

Loose Parts

Khali, Reveille Lead Teacher, attended a Loose Part Summit recently and presented at our Professional Development Day. During the training we developed a definition of loose parts for our center, “Any material that is passive and open-ended, that leads children to use their imagination and problem solve.” From there we created a list of loose parts we need added to our program and divided up collecting responsibility to different classrooms. We decided to ask our families to collect one item per month to help us out. In March, we are asking you to bring in fabric! We will have a collection container in the front for you to drop off your fabric scraps, fabric swatches, ribbons, etc. We are excited to partner with you in collecting loose part items for the classrooms!
