Center Spotlight: Ms. Kim Hodge
This month we are shining the spotlight on CSCC’s new instructional coach, Ms. Kim Hodge. We enjoyed having Mrs. Krista Van De Flier working alongside us and truly appreciate all of her dedication to CSCC. Mrs. Krista will continue working with our teaching staff and remain a valuable part of our CSCC family.
Ms. Kim always held a passion for early childhood education and working with young children. She began her career by studying Child Development and Family Relationships at the University of Texas at Austin, now an official Aggie. Ms. Kim has worked in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) field for over 35 years, and her experiences include working for Head Start Programs, owning and directing a Montessori school and was a Blinn early childhood instructor for 14 years.
As instructional coach, Ms. Kim serves as a resource for staff, students and families. She will be collecting data, completing a variety of assessments and coaching/mentoring teaching staff in child-teacher interactions, etc. to help provide the highest quality early childhood education.
Ms. Kim enjoys being an instructional coach because she is able to build relationships and connections with staff members, students and families. One of Kim’s biggest rewards from her job is watching people succeed. Kim shared, “I have the opportunity to watch students and staff achieve their goals every day. It is an indescribable feeling to watch someone’s self-confidence grow and see them excel as they learn new skills,” Ms. Kim shared. “My goal is to support everyone at CSCC. I want the parents to know I am here as a resource for them. I plan to help each teacher improve and develop by finding their bright spots and highlighting them.”
Currently, Ms. Kim is excited about the addition of student employees who will assist in supporting the classrooms. She is looking forward to building a strong culture and team at CSCC through quality communication and supportive environments.
