For the month of April, our center spotlight shines on our Administrative Coordinator, Liz Schulze. Liz began working on the admin team last month and we are so happy to have her apart of our team.

Liz is from Brenham Texas, “home of Blue Bell Ice cream” she proudly remarked. Liz graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 with a BA in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Leadership and Conflict Management, and received a minor in Psychology. “Throughout my college career, I worked in various capacities with kids – after-school programs, daycare/early learning centers, and summer camp. After graduating, however, I sought out an administrative role and began working at Texas A&M in September 2019.”

“While a student at Texas A&M, I was involved in a few organizations – Environmental Issues Committee, A Freshman Leadership Organization (FLO) called FLARE (Freshman in Liberal Arts Reaching Excellence) where I was a member my freshman year and on leadership my sophomore year, as well as Treehouse – the ELCA Lutheran Campus Ministry at Texas A&M & Blinn.”

“I have loved my first month at Becky Gates Children’s Center! I think I have been the most impressed by the intentionality, care and dedication of the staff. There are so many components involved in day-to-day operations, and it has been amazing to see how this community supports one another and works together to ensure that the kids are learning important skills like critical thinking, emotional regulation, and executive functioning. It is also really great to see a center that celebrates diversity and strives to ensure all children feel loved, supported and represented.”

We welcome all of our families’ and students who have not yet personally met Liz, to stop by an introduce themselves! “I value clear communication and want to support and help the people in this community, whether it be our staff, student workers, children, or parents/guardians, in whatever ways I can. I look forward to getting to know the people in this community more as time goes on. If you ever have any questions or concerns, my office door is always open! ” We love having Liz as a part of our BGCC family!
