This center spotlight shines on our new Teaching Staff Members.

Jana Lenderman and Rachel Jordan recently joined our team at BGCC , so it was perfect timing to learn a little bit more about them as we approach the new school year. Jana will be in the Aggie Ring class while Rachel will work with the Maroon and White group.

Jana has many years of experience as she has worked in childcare for 25 years. She even has a special relationship with our very own Assistant Director, Mrs. Deborah. Among Jana’s very first Pre-School class was Mrs. Deborah’s daughter. Here she is 25 years later working along side Mrs. Deborah. Jana began working at the center in June and already her favorite thing about working here is watching the children “grow and learn new things.” Her favorite part of everyday is reading stories and singing songs with her class. “I love doing anything one on one with the children.”

Rachel began her work at BGCC in July. She previously worked in the medical field along with childcare. She previously worked with 6 month old children and is now working in our Preschool wing. She enjoys working with the older children because they are more independent. “I love watching them play and seeing that light bulb go off when they think of something new.”

Both teachers discussed how much they are enjoying the style of teaching at Becky Gates Children’s Center as compared to places they have worked before. “There is less structure placed on the kids so they are able to lead their own learning and gain more independence.” They love watching the students “explore new things everyday”.

Feel free to stop and introduce yourself if you see on of our new teachers around the center and welcome them to our BGCC family! They are both very excited to form relationships with the students and families.
