This Summer we are loving having some friendly faces back at the center. In our summer program we have some new faces along with some who attended Becky Gates Children’s Center during their Pre-K years. Our teachers love seeing these kids back up at the center everyday and witnessing their growth of knowledge.

This summer program is lead by some of our amazing teaching assistants; Kelsey, Carlie, Kayleigh, Julia, and Regina. As a group, they come up with some amazing lessons and activities for the kids. The children spent the last week learning about space. They got to make and design their very own planet and rockets.

The students are also learning about earning money in a very fun way. Each of the students have created their own store where they “sell” different homemade items; paper airplanes, friendship bracelets, comic books, origami butterflies, etc. Other students can then “buy” the items with “play money” their teachers have helped them create. This is such a fun way to introduce the value of money to these young students.

We love having this fun filled summer program at the center and cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer holds for these kids! For now, this group will continue to enjoy everyday the best way they know; dancing!
