Center Spotlight: Our Student Worker Class of 2021

May’s Center Spotlight shines on our graduating student workers! Meaghan Scales, Reagan Endler, Cassidy Shelton, Brooklyn Giddings, Megan Godfrey, Melissa Anda Vargas, Victoria Dowdy, and Maegan Burrier are proud members of the Fightin’ Aggie Class of 2021. Also members of the Class of 2021, Kelsey Kraushaar, Carlie Devlin, Avery Seago, and Kayleigh Holub are currently student teaching and will graduate in May. We are so proud of all their years of hard academic work and it has finally paid off!

These grads made some amazing memories during their time at working at the center. After speaking with several of our grads, it is clear that the Becky Gates Children’s Center had a very big impact on their lives. “Every time I walk into the building, a memory is made,” said Kelsey Kraushaar. She recalls some of her favorite moments at the center being with her co workers. “Some of my favorite memories come from having lunch with the other teachers. The teachers in our wing create bonds like no other and we are always there for one another.” Other graduate, Carlie Devlin, recalls her last day working at the center, “the admin, staff, and students made me feel so loved.” Our student workers create meaningful relationships with the staff and make the center truly feel like home.

Our student workers also interact with our students daily, helping them learn new things every day. Avery Seago says some of her favorite memories from her time at the center were “watching the kiddos grow, develop and witness how they change from year to year.” This Pre-K graduating class holds a special place in her heart as she has been working at the center since they were infants. Kalyeigh Holub’s favorite moments at the center were playing outside in the summer. She has one specific memory of playing hide and seek on the playground. “Mrs. Erica came and joined us outside to play and the kids could not stop laughing.” It is obvious how much our student workers care for each child at the center.

Graduate Maegan Burrier, has another special role at the center, working as a part of our front desk staff. “I have absolutely loved getting to know both the kids and parents during my time at the center.” One of her favorite moments at the center was last year’s graduation parade. She enjoyed seeing how excited the kids and parents were to celebrate graduation through such a unique experience.

We are so proud of all our student workers and their academic success. We wish them the best of luck in their next steps in life. Our student workers play such a huge role at the center and create strong relationships among the staff and students. We will miss having them at the center every day, but they will always be a part of the Becky Gates Children’s Center family!
