This Fall we are happy to welcome some new faces to our center. We have two new Co-Teachers, Allison Charernsook in Reveille  and Natalie Tate in Kyle Field! They are excited to help plan fun activities and lessons for their classes to have a great year.

Allison Charernsook, who began working at BGCC in 2020 as a teaching assistant, is now the co-teacher for the Reveille Classroom. Allison is currently majoring in Early Childhood Education EC-6) at Blinn College and plans to transfer to Texas A&M to finish out her Bachelor’s Degree. Allison graduated from high school in Oklahoma but came to the Bryan, College Station area to further her education and raise a family. Allison and her partner have a 4 year-old daughter named Wyatt who currently attends BGCC. She said Wyatt “has loved her time so far at Becky Gates Children’s Center!” Allison’s hobbies include everything from sewing, crafting, and gardening to spending lots of time with her family and their two dogs.  Autumn is her favorite time of the year for many reasons, but one of them is ringing in the new school year and everything that goes with it! Allison says she is “so excited to help our child(ren) grow in their independence skills, learn how to recognize and express their emotions appropriately, how to resolve conflicts and how to be a part of a community that works together!” She loves working with children and has found this line of work to be the most fulfilling, saying, “My time here has been an amazing experience thus far! The people here are truly like family to me. Everyone is always willing to lend a helpful hand; they’ve been able to provide me with amazing opportunities to strengthen my knowledge and my confidence in teaching! I really couldn’t ask for a better work environment. The children I’ve met at BGCC have made such an impact on my life. We laugh together, we cry together, and we grow together with every shared moment. It’s incredible how independent and smart children are when they’re provided the right tools and a safe environment to explore. It’s always hard to say goodbye to our students as they move on and grow up but it’s an amazing feeling when you see how much progress they’ve made from start to finish. I hope that I continue to impact children’s lives positively and give parents some ease of mind knowing that their children are in safe hands.”

Natalie Tate was hired in August and is the co-teacher in the Kyle Field classroom! Natalie began her college education at Blinn and hopes to be back working on her degree by Spring 2023! Natalie has worked in an early childhood education setting since graduating in 2019, and has had an interest in being an early childhood educator since she was little and helped raise her younger brother and cousins. Natalie says in her free time she loves “to bake, read, and go on adventures with [her] two dogs and partner!” Natalie has shared that “Since coming to Becky Gates Children’s Center, everyone has been very kind and welcoming. The center is unique and very inclusive, I am really excited to see where this year takes us!”

We are so happy to have each of these ladies a part of our BGCC family! We are excited to watch them grow in their roles here.
